OMG!!!

Eight years ago texting was not as common as it is now. If I remember correctly most people were barely had cell phones the reason being that we were only sixth, seventh or eight graders and we were too young to get them. The people that did have phones a lot of people didn’t bother to include texting on their plans. I remember that my oldest brother Edgar got himself a cell phone until after high school when he got a job. My other brother Oscar didn’t get a phone until he turned eighteen years old, which was a gift from my brother Edgar and the phone was pre paid. I got my first phone when I turned fifteen years old and did not have texting. A couple of months later after I begged my parents for it they finally gave in and included it in the plan then we had it. My little brother got his first phone when he turned fourteen and the whole package was already there for him including texting. So I have noticed that as time has passed more and more people use texting and not only more people but also younger and younger people use it all the time. I think that texting is a great tool for communication. I use my phone mostly for that I hardly ever talk on my phone. Texting is awesome because it is the best and easiest way to get a hold of people fast whenever you need to do so.

  1. Thank you for sharing! It is great that people are buying phones for their children is a great because they can stay connected with them either by calling or texting, but it can be good and bad in many ways. Texting is great for communication, but bad because it is addictive. - BEE

  2. i think phones could come to good use,but it comes to the point where people are texting at the wrong time and could create phone related injury's. Its becoming more frequent that youths are getting into car accidents because of texting. Don't forget to take this into consideration when you give your future children phones.

  3. I like texting because I like to keep in touch with my daughter and my best friend. I text alot because I can't always be on the phone chatting. What I find amazing is the age at which some of the kids are getting their phones. One of my professors told me that her neice who is only 3 years old has a phone. What's even more shocking is the phone is an i-phone. What does a 3 year old need with an i-phone?????
